Interviewer: Thank you for joining us today. Let’s start with your latest album. What inspired this new direction?
Billie Joe Armstrong: Absolutely, thanks for having us! This album is a reflection of where we are now, personally and musically. We’ve taken inspiration from the chaos of the world and the quieter moments we've had at home. It's a mix of high energy and introspective moments—classic Green Day but with a twist.
Mike Dirnt: Yeah, we wanted to experiment with different sounds and push our boundaries. You’ll hear some synthesizers and even some folk influences in there. It's about not being afraid to try new things.
Interviewer: Speaking of trying new things, there’s a track that features a collaboration with an unexpected artist. How did that come about?
Tre Cool: That was a crazy opportunity. We’ve always been fans of different genres, and this artist brings a completely different vibe to the track. It started with a jam session, and it just clicked. We love mixing our punk rock roots with other styles.
Interviewer: Green Day has been known for its politically charged music. Does this album touch on current events?
Billie Joe: Absolutely. It’s hard not to be influenced by what’s happening around us. We address everything from political unrest to climate change, but there are also more personal songs about dealing with these issues on a human level.
