Kick off the summer mountain man style at Fort Henry Buckskinners' Rendezvous the first week of June. Open to the public from 9 am to 6 pm each day. Check out the vendors on Traders' Row selling everything from throwing knives to 1800s-style dresses. Have kids? The candy cannon is a perennial favorite, as are the free crafts in the community tent. You can even borrow a kids' bow to practice on archery targets (ask at the registration tent).
Want to compete? Pre-1840s dress is required to compete in black powder, hawk & knife, and primitive archery. A small registration fee is required.
Want to camp with us? See the pre-registration form and fee on the website. Join us after 6 pm by reenacting and wearing pre-1840s dress (available for purchase from the vendors). Bring your own primitive canvas tent, or just stay close by in the "tin teepee" RV/camper area.
Directions from Idaho Falls: Take US 20-East past Ashton. Follow the mountain man signs to Sheep Falls Road. Turn right.
