What is CERT? CERT seeks to educate people about disaster preparedness and trains them in basic disaster response skills. CERT is an acronym for Community Emergency Response Team. There are teams organized throughout the country to aid first responders in the event of disasters. Our teams have assisted organizing in staffing sheltering for evacuations as well as sand bagging in times of flooding. We also strive to educate the public through community events regarding emergency preparedness and disaster awareness. We offer several free academies are offered each year throughout the region.
