East Side Soil and Water Conservation District

Conservation Districts serve as community-based hubs of natural resource expertise. Their primary functions include: Working directly with farmers, ranchers, and rural or urban homeowners to create and implement sustainable conservation practices. Protecting groundwater, conserving wetlands, and restoring wildlife habitats. Helping landowners navigate and secure funding from local, state, and federal cost-share programs to implement expensive conservation projects (such as irrigation upgrades).Reaching out to communities and schools to teach the value of natural resources. Assisting developers with controlling soil erosion and protecting water and air quality during construction.
